Repository and Self-Archiving Policy

Repository and Self-Archiving Policy

The Journal of Agribusiness and Social Sciences (JASS) supports open access and the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly research. Authors are permitted to deposit all versions of their manuscripts in institutional, subject-specific, and general-purpose repositories without an embargo, subject to appropriate attribution and acknowledgment of the published article.

1. Preprint (Submitted Version)

The preprint is the version of the manuscript submitted to JASS before peer review.

  • Authors may deposit this version in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, or appropriate preprint servers.
  • The deposited manuscript should be clearly identified as a preprint that has not undergone peer review.
  • Once the article is published, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with a full citation and a link to the final published version.

2. Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM / Postprint)

The Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM) is the version that has undergone peer review and has been accepted for publication but has not yet been copyedited, typeset, or formatted by JASS.

  • Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript immediately and without embargo in institutional or subject-specific repositories and academic networking platforms, including ResearchGate and Academia.edu.
  • The deposited version should acknowledge publication in JASS and include the DOI or a link to the Version of Record once available.

3. Version of Record (Published Version)

The Version of Record is the final, peer-reviewed, copyedited, and published version of the article.

  • Authors may deposit and share the published version immediately and without restrictions or embargo in institutional, subject-specific, and general-purpose repositories, including platforms such as Zenodo and Figshare.
  • The deposited version should retain the article's complete bibliographic information, DOI, and appropriate attribution to JASS as the original publisher.

4. General Repository Guidelines

Authors depositing any version of their manuscripts are expected to observe the following requirements:

  • No embargo applies to the preprint, Author's Accepted Manuscript, or Version of Record.
  • Deposited materials should include complete and accurate metadata, including the article title, author names, journal title, publication date, and DOI, where available.
  • Authors should provide a persistent link to the final published article whenever available.
  • Authors are encouraged to comply with applicable institutional and funding-agency open-access requirements and to deposit their work in appropriate repositories to maximize accessibility, discoverability, and research impact.

5. Open Access and Policy Alignment

The JASS repository and self-archiving policy supports the principles of open scholarly communication and is informed by relevant international open-access and publication-ethics frameworks, including:

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
  • OpenAIRE
