Copyright Notice

The Journal of Integrated Sciences and Agriculture (JISA), published by The AgEcon Frontiers (TAEF), is a fully open-access, peer-reviewed journal committed to the responsible dissemination of scholarly knowledge. This Copyright Notice establishes the terms governing copyright ownership, publication rights, licensing, author reuse, and the use of third-party materials in articles published by JISA.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright to their articles published in JISA. Copyright is not transferred to the journal or publisher.

Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant JISA a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, communicate, promote, and archive their articles in print, electronic, online, and other relevant formats. This licence enables the journal to disseminate and preserve the scholarly record while allowing authors to retain ownership of their work.

Authors may share, distribute, and reuse their published articles, provided that the original publication in JISA is appropriately acknowledged and the applicable licensing terms are respected.

2. Open-Access Licensing Policy

All articles published in JISA are made freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Under this licence, users are permitted to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

These permissions are subject to the following conditions:

  • Attribution: Appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s) and the source of publication.
  • Licence reference: A link to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence must be provided.
  • Indication of changes: Any modifications made to the original material must be clearly indicated.

The CC BY 4.0 licence applies to the published article, subject to any expressly identified exceptions for third-party material.

3. Author Rights and Reuse

Authors publishing in JISA retain the right to:

  • Deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and other appropriate online platforms immediately upon publication.
  • Share their published articles through scholarly networking and academic dissemination platforms, including ResearchGate and Academia.edu, subject to the applicable platform terms and the CC BY 4.0 licence.
  • Reuse their published work, in whole or in part, in subsequent research, teaching, scholarly presentations, books, and other academic outputs, provided that the original publication in JISA is properly cited.
  • Reuse figures, tables, and other material from their articles in future works, subject to appropriate attribution and any applicable third-party rights.

Authors are encouraged to include the article's DOI or permanent URL when sharing or citing their published work, where available.

4. Third-Party Content and Permissions

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all third-party material included in their submissions—including figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, substantial text extracts, and other copyrighted content—is used lawfully.

Where permission is required, authors must obtain written permission from the relevant copyright holder before publication and provide appropriate acknowledgement of the original source. Authors must clearly identify any material that is excluded from the article's CC BY 4.0 licence.

The inclusion of third-party material in an article does not automatically mean that such material is covered by the article's open-access licence. Any applicable restrictions or separate licensing terms must be clearly indicated.

5. Publisher Rights and Digital Preservation

JISA and its publisher, The AgEcon Frontiers (TAEF), retain the right to host, distribute, reproduce, and archive published articles in accordance with the non-exclusive licence granted by the authors and the terms of the CC BY 4.0 licence.

The journal may deposit and preserve its published content through appropriate digital repositories, indexing and discovery services, and recognised digital preservation networks, subject to the requirements and terms of the relevant services.

JISA is committed to maintaining the long-term accessibility and integrity of its published scholarly record. Preservation arrangements may include services such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and CLOCKSS, where participation and technical eligibility have been established.

Digital preservation arrangements are intended to support continued access to published content. The availability of any particular preservation service is subject to the journal's actual participation in that service and its applicable terms.

6. Originality, Plagiarism, and Copyright Infringement

Authors submitting manuscripts to JISA must ensure that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal. Authors must appropriately acknowledge the work and ideas of others and comply with applicable copyright and licensing requirements.

JISA takes allegations of plagiarism, duplicate publication, unauthorised use of copyrighted material, and other forms of publication misconduct seriously. Such concerns will be assessed and investigated in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and relevant Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance.

Where misconduct or copyright infringement is established, the journal may take appropriate action, which may include requesting corrections, issuing an expression of concern, retracting published work, or taking other measures consistent with its policies and the circumstances of the case.

Authors are expected to cooperate with any investigation and provide permissions or supporting documentation when requested.

7. Editorial Responsibility

The views, findings, interpretations, and conclusions expressed in published articles are those of the respective authors. Publication in JISA does not necessarily imply endorsement by the journal, its editors, or its publisher.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, permissions, and lawful use of the content they submit and publish.

8. Policy and Copyright Enquiries

Questions concerning copyright ownership, licensing, permissions, or the reuse of material published in JISA should be directed to the journal.
